FAA Aeromedical Neuropsychological Evaluations

FAA-listed evaluations for airmen seeking special issuance after a potentially impairing diagnosis.

Overview

Dr. Considine is a federally listed aeromedical neuropsychologist who conducts FAA-compliant neuropsychological evaluations for airmen seeking a special issuance of an aeromedical certificate following a potentially impairing neurological or psychiatric diagnosis. Evaluations follow current FAA protocol and produce the documentation required by the agency.

Conditions evaluated

Evaluations are tailored to the condition referenced in your FAA letter and may address neurocognitive concerns related to a neurological condition, ADHD, mood disorder or antidepressant medication, substance use, and related neurological and psychiatric conditions. Re-evaluations for previously cleared airmen are also offered.

What to expect

A typical evaluation includes a clinical interview, the CogScreen aeromedical instrument, standardized cognitive testing as indicated, a computer-administered psychiatric questionnaire, record review, and a written report prepared to FAA standards. Some conditions require additional testing on a separate date if the standard examination yields an equivocal finding. Specific requirements depend on your diagnosis and the FAA's protocol for that condition.

Fees

Fees vary by the condition under review and the FAA-required testing protocol, and typically range from $4,500 to $8,000. A precise quote is provided after Dr. Considine reviews your FAA letter. Fees are due at the time of service. Payment is accepted by check, wire transfer, or credit card.
